Monsey periodontal treatment
Periodontal disease is a serious problem that can result in the loss of teeth and jawbone material and even affect other organs in the body including the heart.
Monsey periodontal treatment from Dr. Jonathan Tiger, DMD can remediate the problem and help save the patient’s teeth.
When a patient develops gum disease bacterial infection causes the gums to pull away from the teeth and form deep pockets between the gum and tooth, which allows the bacteria colonies room to expand further. The deeper the pockets the worse the periodontal disease has progressed. Eventually the gums will no longer be able to support the tooth and it may be lost. Monsey periodontal treatment involves cleaning out the infection and calming the tooth root, and in cases where the periodontal disease is moderate to severe our doctor may perform surgery to reduce and reattach the pockets. Our doctor can perform traditional surgery or laser surgery using the LANAP method. The Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP), an FDA-cleared procedure, offers an alternative to traditional gum disease treatment, eliminating the use of scalpels or sutures. The laser eliminates the need for cutting the gums but is able to clean away the diseased tissue while protecting the still healthy tissue; this results in the elimination of the disease and the pockets. Because there is no cutting the gums heal faster with less pain.
Aside from the eradication of gum disease our doctor uses the LANAP
Monsey periodontal treatment for many other procedures including dental implants, gum grafting, periodontal plastic surgery, bone grafting, sedation and All-On-4 implants for dentures. It is innovative periodontal methods and technology that makes our doctor and practice the premier periodontal healthcare provider in the Rockland County area. Please an appointment with our office to make sure your gums are healthy and disease free.
